How to use the Sinhala typing keyboard

Choose Singlish, Wijesekara, On-screen Keyboard or English mode.
Type in the active editor or select the large touch keys.
Review the Unicode output and use Copy text, Download TXT, Print or Share.

Singlish to Sinhala typing

Singlish mode processes longer sound patterns before shorter ones and applies independent vowels, dependent vowel signs and supported joined forms. Use Pause conversion when you want to edit the Unicode output without automatic replacement. Add brand names or technical terms to the preserve field when they must remain in English.

Wijesekara keyboard online

Wijesekara mode accepts physical keyboard input using the standard Sinhala computer-keyboard arrangement and also provides a responsive reference keyboard. Shifted keys produce their standard alternate forms. Browser and font shaping support can affect how joined sequences appear.

Sinhala keyboard for mobile

The on-screen keyboard uses large touch targets, groups characters by purpose and avoids horizontal scrolling. The action bar stays within reach for quick copying. Portrait and landscape layouts adapt automatically.

Typing guide

Use repeated vowels in Singlish for long sounds, such as aa, ii and uu.
Use the Vowel signs section to adjust a consonant manually.
Use the Combined letters section for supported rakaransaya, yansaya and repaya sequences.
Keep a separate copy of important text before making major corrections.

Does the keyboard upload my writing?

No. Normal typing, conversion and draft storage happen locally in your browser.

Can I restore my last session?

Yes. Auto-save is enabled locally. Select Clear saved data when you do not want the browser to retain the draft.

Can I type with a physical Wijesekara keyboard?

Yes. Select Wijesekara mode, focus the Unicode editor and type using the supported standard key positions.
